sh5/sh51 speed review
Waka Kōtahi NZ Transport Agency is undertaking speed reviews for SH51 from Marine Parade to Waipatu and SH5 from Napier through to Taupō. Bike Hawke’s Bay strongly supports the proposal to reduce speeds on these routes.

Hastings District Council’s LTP sets out a programme of work and investment for the next 10 years. Bike Hawke’s Bay’s submission focuses on car parking and revitalisation in the CBD.
hastings speed limit review 2020
Hastings District Council reviewed 77 speed limit proposals, the majority of which were to lower existing speeds. Bike Hawke’s Bay’s supported all such proposals, but focused its submission on routes that include bicycle facilities or are popular bike routes.

Napier City Council outlined major projects and its budget for the year ahead in its annual plan. Bike Hawke’s Bay’s submission called for specific policy changes regarding active transport to be included in the plan.
